About | Website information
The S-F Grading System should be familiar to anyone who has played Japanese videogames.

S is the highest grade possible, followed by A, B, C, D, E, and F.

The reason this system is preferred is because the grades can be easily interpreted by all viewers. The flaw of the 1-10 grading system is that different people view it differently. Some view a score of 5/10 as average, others would view it as an abject failure as they equate the 1-10 system to the US Educational Scale - where anything under 70% (7/10) is a failure. With the S-F system the grades mean nearly the same thing to all readers.

S-F is preferred to A-F (with no D) because if follows a mathematically logical system. C is the average grade, right in the middle, with three classifications above and below.

Here is a rundown of each grade as used by Radaxian:

S - Perfect. A flawless, classic, special game.
A - Great. Slightly less that perfect.
B - Above average. A good fun game but nothing too special.
C - Average. Middle of the road.
D - Below average. Subpar, slightly flawed, or missing something important.
E - Bad. Not a fun game, very little redeeming qualities.
F - Terrible. A game so bad or flawed that it makes you angry and frustrated.
