Wonderful Pacteria is an interesting twist on the traditional Mr. Driller gameplay. In Wonderful Pacteria you do not lose air as time passes but rather each time you drill a block. This makes for a slower paced and more tactical experience. Wonderful Pacteria is also a virtual pet simulator. During your adventures exploring the ruins you will find items which you can use to evolve and care for your Pacteria. Access the Pacteria room via the blue tower. There you will find your Pacteria. It changes colours and forms as the game continues. There are six options at the bottom of the screen: the Head Icon calls the Pacteria, the Pacteria Icon shows you the status, the Box Icon accesses items, the Hand Icon allows you to pet the Pacteria, the Card Icon shows you Pacteria cards, and finally the Door Icon sends you back to the main Pacteria option screen. If you click on the Status Icon the following information will be displayed: Japanese Characters = Name, Block Icon = Number of Blocks, Egg = Transformation Level, Bar = Transformation Metre, and Pacteria Word Bubble = Description. The most noteworthy information deals with transformation status of the Pacteria. The Pacteria Card shows you the name of the Pacteria and Dr. Zetto's notes on each form. Use this function to see which cards / forms you have unlocked. Try to collect as many cards as you can. To do that you need to unlock all colour variations before evolving the Pacteria. Because of the language barrier it is difficult to get 100%, so focus on having fun and getting as many as possible. Wonderful Pacteria mode is not difficult to pick up and play but it does contain many items and intricacies. During gameplay the Pause Menu displays the following options: » 1: Doristones » 2: Items » 3: Return » 4: Quick Save (Up = Yes, Down = No) » 5: Retry » 6: Change Stage (Exit) » 7: Reset (Start Menu) When you get to the Game Over option menu you must choose one of the following options: Retry, Select Stage, or Reset (back to the Start Menu).
